Girl Game: Put Yourself On a Budget

I’ve been doing well with budgeting lately, I have a set amount of cash I take out of the bank every week for me and the girls to spend  and when it’s gone, I stop spending. It’s been difficult some weeks, sometimes I don’t get to drive places because I’m almost out of gas. It also forces me to plan ahead a little, this week I need to spend the extra money on new tennis shoes for oldest daughter. Now that the weather is nicer, we’ve discovered she’s also outgrown her bicycle. Maybe I can find something at a garage sale or on Craigslist for her.

Anyway, what’s this got to do with girl game? Well, I don’t get to buy things for myself…as often, but I still have needs/wants and maybe it’s because of this new budget or maybe it’s just because my husband is wonderful, but he’s been buying me more gifts. I rarely received gifts from him before and lately I’ve received several. I love it. It really makes me feel loved, and it’s better to do without things and to let him spoil me than it was to buy things I wanted for myself all the time.  He most recently bought me a yearly subscription to Pandora.  Also since I have more control of my money I decided to sponsor a child from Kenya, the girls and I have been praying for her but we haven’t received her information yet, we only have her picture.  It means less fun stuff for us, but it seems our needs and even some of our wants are being taken care of.

That’s an interesting purse, but I can’t imagine where you would wear that outfit with it in public, to be able to show how well you accessorize. ;)
